Why should everybody learn how to program?
I made a presentation to motivate students to apply for this course. Even though I wanted to teach to everybody who was eager to learn how to code, I was aware that I was doing this mostly by myself, so I decided to have just 8 seats available for the course.
I asked the vice principal, Silvia Moya, to collect students in 10th and 11th grade that have shown good problem-solving skills. She did an outstanding job, and she also set up the place where I gave the talk on October 6th, 2017. The students who attended the talk did not know the reason why they were there, so all of them were thrilled when I started talking.
I presented some reasons why people should learn how to code no matter the major they have decided to study. I told them about CS50 AP Puyo which was going to start in January 2018 with 8 students. In addition, I talked about the selection process which consisted of a technical test, a personality test, and a personal interview.
Finally, I told them that the technical test was going to be taken on October 14th, 2017. The students left the room, and I could clearly see their faces full of enthusiasm and illusion.
